Mattoni 1873 and PepsiCo successfully completed the purchase of Knjaz Milos


Mattoni 1873 and PepsiCo successfully completed the purchase of the leading Serbian producer of mineral waters and soft drinks Knjaz Milos.  Mattoni Group CEO Alessandro Pasquale today signed the share purchase agreement at the Czech Embassy in Belgrade with the leading investor in the private equity in Central and Eastern Europe Mid Europa Partners. JPM Jankovic Popovic Mitic acted as the Serbian legal advisor.

Karlovarské minerální vody, which recently was renamed to Mattoni 1873 is the largest producer of mineral and spring waters in Central Europe.

JPM team led by Senior Partner Nenad Popović. Partners Jelena Stanković Lukić and Nikola Poznanovic were in charge of corporate and M&A, banking and finance and competition matters, while partners Ivan Petrović and Bojan Šunderić were engaged in the legal assessment of Knjaz Miloš’s real estate portfolio and the intellectual property matters respectively. Partner Jelena Nikolić from the employment team together with Senior Associates Stefan Jovičić, Bojana Javorić, Anja Šakan, and Jelena Otašević provided valuable assistance on various aspects of the deal.

“The inclusion of Knjaz Milos company will provide the opportunity for further growth and stability to customers and employees,” said Pasquale.

The acquisition was announced in early June. In addition to the flagship of the “Sparkling mineral water of the same name”, the group of Knjaz Miloš includes water Aqua Viva, the first Serbian energy drink Guarana, a non-alcoholic sparkling drink ReMix Knjaz, and sparkling and non-sparkling soft drinks Golf.

Knjaz Miloš, based in Arandjelovaci, Serbia, is the largest producer of mineral water and energy drinks in the market with more than 200 years of history.
