JPM Wins the Corruption Charges Case Against Worldfin S.A.

After nearly 10 years of trials and appeals, the Court of Appeal in Belgrade has finally confirmed the second first instance acquittal ruling of the Higher Court in Belgrade – Organized Crime Department.

JPM Criminal Law and Criminal Compliance team representing Worldfin S.A. have been led by Senior Partner Nenad Popovic.

Worldfin S.A. was charged for acquiring the unlawful financial gain by colluding with the officials from the Ministry of Privatization and Privatization Agency as well as with the top management of Luka Beograd JSC during the successful take over bid by which Worldfin S.A. become the majority shareholder of this company.

All the defendants including at the time the minister for Privatization and the Directors of Privatization Agency, the Share Fund, and Luka Beograd JSC have been finally acquitted as well.

This case has been one of the famous cases in respect of “24 privatizations” launched since 2012 and has attracted huge public and media coverage.
